Cookie Policy

We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies and local storage. We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies.

What we use

• Session cookie (sgp_sid): keeps you logged in securely. It is always HTTP-only, and is marked Secure whenever the page is served over HTTPS — which we force site-wide.
• Language cookie (sgp_lang): set only if you switch the site's language, so the site stays in your chosen language. It stores just a language code and nothing else, and is never used for tracking.
• Cookie-notice preference: stored in your browser so we don't show the notice again.
• Visit-counting opt-out (sgp_nocount): set only if the site owner clicks “stop counting this browser” in the private admin area, so their own testing is left out of our visitor totals. It stores the single value 1, identifies nobody, and is never set on a student’s browser.
• Progress storage: your device's local storage holds a copy of your learning progress so the app works smoothly and offline; if you're logged in, progress is also saved to your account.

Because these are strictly necessary for the Service to function or reflect your own saved progress, they do not require opt-in consent under most laws, but we show a notice for transparency.

Managing cookies

We also keep a few small preferences in your browser's local storage, not in cookies: your theme choice (sgp_theme), whether you have dismissed the cookie notice, an optional word-help toggle (sgp_wordhelp), and a copy of your practice progress so it survives without an account. Local storage is never sent to us automatically and is not used for tracking.

You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will log you out and clear locally-stored progress (your account progress remains saved if you're registered).
